This can happen due to differences in rounding criteria or in the way VAT is calculated in one system versus another. In most cases, these discrepancies are no more than 1 cent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this post, we explain how to configure Business Central to allow these VAT differences and set a limit for them.<\/p>\n<p>First, go to General Ledger Setup, and in the field \u201cMax. VAT Difference Allowed\u201d, specify the maximum amount\u2014positive or negative\u2014that you want to allow for VAT adjustments.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21845\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/diferencia-iva-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1318\" height=\"532\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, in Purchases &amp; Payables Setup, locate the field \u201cAllow VAT Difference\u201d and enable it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21846\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/diferencia-iva-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1347\" height=\"641\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This way, when you are about to post a purchase invoice in Business Central and notice that the total amount or VAT amount does not match the vendor\u2019s invoice, you can go to the Statistics page before posting and adjust the VAT Amount up or down to match the vendor\u2019s figures, as long as the adjustment does not exceed the limit defined in the General Ledger Setup. Let\u2019s look at an example:<\/p>\n<p>Suppose we receive an invoice for \u20ac1,813.20 with VAT of \u20ac380.78 and a total of \u20ac2,193.98. When entering it in Business Central, due to line rounding, we obtain different totals, as shown in the image:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21847\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/diferencia-iva-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1018\" height=\"607\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We can see that there is a difference of 1 cent.
