Its aim is to ensure that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">The invoices must be <strong>complete and traceable.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The invoices must not be modified once issued.<\/li>\n<li>Parallel accounting must be avoided.<\/li>\n<li>Billing systems must be able to connect with the tax authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Initially, Verifactu was going to come into force in <strong>2026<\/strong>, affecting companies and self\u2011employed workers with an annual turnover of less than <strong>6 million euros<\/strong>, requiring them to use <strong>certified billing software<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Why many companies opted for the SII<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Given this scenario, and to <strong>avoid the economic and technical impact<\/strong> of adapting their systems to Verifactu, many companies chose to join <strong>the Immediate Supply of Information (SII) voluntarily.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This system, mandatory since 2017 for large companies, involves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Sending to the tax authority the <strong>issued and received invoices.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">A maximum period of <strong>four calendar days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A much more demanding level of tax control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The regulation allows voluntary adherence to the SII, although it is only mandatory for companies that exceed <strong>6 million euros in turnover<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>The delay of Verifactu leaves many companies trapped<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33556 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T100327.409.webp\" alt=\"Hacienda permite salir del SII\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T100327.409.webp 1000w, https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T100327.409-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T100327.409-768x432.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">At the beginning of December, the Government announced that <strong>Verifactu is delayed until 2027<\/strong>. However, for many companies the damage was already done:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They had already joined the SII.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">The ordinary deadline to renounce the SII is <strong>November.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">The announcement arrived <strong>outside that deadline.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a consequence, numerous companies were left trapped in the SII, bearing more obligations than they would actually be entitled to.<\/p>\n<h2>The key announcement: the Tax Agency opens an extraordinary deadline<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To correct this situation, the Council of Ministers approved a <strong>Royal Decree-law,<\/strong> already published in the Official State Gazette, which enables an <strong>extraordinary window to exit the SII<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Official dates to renounce the SII<\/h3>\n<p>According to the legal text, taxpayers may renounce the SII:<\/p>\n<p><strong>From December 26 to January 31, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The waiver must be submitted through the <strong>Electronic Headquarters of the State Tax Administration Agency<\/strong> and will not have negative consequences for those who opted in voluntarily.<\/p>\n<h2>SII vs Verifactu: why this measure is relevant<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The decision by the Tax Agency is relevant because the <strong>SII imposes more obligations than Verifactu<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">The SII requires sending <strong>issued and received invoices.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Verifactu, in principle, only applies to <strong>issued invoices.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The SII\u2019s time control is much stricter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Although the Tax Agency has warned that it will <strong>monitor more closely<\/strong> those who do not share invoices under Verifactu, the two systems are currently not equivalent in administrative burden.<\/p>\n<h2>What affected companies should do now<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33554 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T095858.333.webp\" alt=\"Hacienda permite salir del SII\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T095858.333.webp 1000w, https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T095858.333-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Empresas-2025-12-29T095858.333-768x432.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Those that adopted the SII to avoid Verifactu should now:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Review <strong>whether your enrollment was voluntary.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Analyze the <strong>operational and tax impact<\/strong> of the SII.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Evaluate whether it is in your interest to <strong>leave the SII<\/strong> or remain in it.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Prepare in advance for <strong>Verifactu in 2027.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Taking the decision in advance is key to avoiding mistakes and rushed changes in billing systems.<\/p>\n<h2>The role of billing systems and the ERP<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">This announcement once again highlights the importance of having <strong>adaptable billing solutions<\/strong>, capable of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comply with SII if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Adapt to Verifactu when it becomes mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Integrate with accounting and management systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Companies that already work with ERP systems such as <strong>Business Central<\/strong> start with an advantage, as long as their system is properly configured.<\/p>\n<h2>An opportunity to prepare in advance for the jump to Verifactu<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Beyond the possibility of abandoning the SII, the announcement from the Tax Agency opens a <strong>strategic window<\/strong> for companies: <strong>to anticipate Verifactu and approach it in a planned way<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The extraordinary exit from the SII allows many organizations to free themselves, at least temporarily, from a system that is more demanding in deadlines and volume of information, and <strong>rethink their electronic invoicing model with a future-oriented vision<\/strong>.
