The content of the following article explains how to resolve three of the most frequent ones.<br \/>\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Empresas-28-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"Mensajes de error en Microsoft Dynamics NAV\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIn the process of posting transactions in the journal, if we are entering an accounting entry that is not intended to generate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infoautonomos.com\/fiscalidad\/el-igic-de-canarias\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IGIC\/VAT entries<\/a> or additional sales or purchase movements, such as:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/mov-contables.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"mov contables\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abd.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/mov-contables.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"787\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Entering Accounting Movements in Microsoft Dynamics NAV<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We can see that the columns \u201cBusiness Posting Group\u201d and \u201cProduct Posting Group\u201d have assigned values, and the columns \u201cVAT Bus. Posting Group\u201d and \u201cVAT Prod. Posting Group\u201d likely contain information as well.<\/p>\n<h3>When posting this entry, one of the following messages may appear:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>\u201cVAT Type must not be in Gen. Journal Line: Journal Template Name=GENERAL, Journal Batch Name=CAJA, Line No.=10000\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cause<\/strong>:<br \/>\nLine number 10000 (the first line) has a value assigned in the Business Posting Group and Product Posting Group columns, or in VAT Bus. Posting Group and VAT Prod. Posting Group, but the VAT Type field is blank.<br \/>\nMicrosoft Dynamics NAV interprets this as an attempt to post a sales or purchase transaction, and these types of transactions require specifying whether the VAT Type is Sales or Purchase.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>\u201cThe VAT Posting Setup does not exist. Identifying fields and values: VAT Bus. Posting Group=\u2018\u2019, VAT Prod. Posting Group=\u2018\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis case is similar to the previous one. Dynamics NAV interprets that you are trying to post a sales or purchase transaction because at least one line has a value in the VAT Type field, but the Business Posting Group and Product Posting Group, or the VAT Bus. Posting Group and VAT Prod. Posting Group, are blank.<br \/>\nIn this situation, NAV assumes that additional sales or purchase entries should be created, and therefore requires the corresponding posting groups and VAT posting setup.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Verify that all entries with the same Document No. and a VAT Bus. Posting Group and VAT Prod. Posting Group have a Customer\/Vendor associated. Verify that all lines with the same Document No. do not have more than one Customer\/Vendor assigned. Verify that all lines with the same Document No. have the same value in the Document Type field: Invoice, Credit Memo, or Finance Charge Memo.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong><br \/>\nDynamics NAV interprets that you are trying to post an invoice or credit memo, so it requires a customer or vendor to be associated with the document.<br \/>\nThis error appears when at least one line has a value in the VAT Type, Product Posting Group, and Business Posting Group fields, or in the VAT Bus. Posting Group and VAT Prod. Posting Group fields.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Solution to Dynamics NAV Error Messages<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">If you do not want to generate IGIC\/VAT entries or any sales and\/or purchase movements, <strong>leave the following fields blank<\/strong>:\n<strong><br>\n- VAT Type\n<br>\n- Business Posting Group\n<br>\n- Product Posting Group\n<br>\n- VAT Bus. Posting Group\n<br>\n- VAT Prod.
