Los vendedores tecnol\u00f3gicos visitaban a sus prospectos para ofrecerles sus novedosos productos y servicios. Esto cre\u00f3 la necesidad de contar con herramientas para gestionar sus contactos. As\u00ed naci\u00f3 ACT! en 1987, como el primer Contact Management Software.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>En 1989 lleg\u00f3 Goldmine, que fue la primera soluci\u00f3n para gestionar la actividad de la fuerza de ventas y, aprovechando la naciente tecnolog\u00eda de redes locales, facilitaba la consolidaci\u00f3n de reportes para obtener el forecast. A este tipo de aplicaciones se les llam\u00f3 Salesforce Automation \u2013SFA y es en gran medida la base de las herramientas de CRM actuales, ya que permit\u00eda que sea la empresa, y no solo los vendedores, la que establezca la relaci\u00f3n con los clientes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Tom Siebel dej\u00f3 Oracle en 1993 para fundar su propia empresa en vista que no logr\u00f3 convencer a Larry Ellison para que comercialice su aplicaci\u00f3n de ventas interna. Siebel Systems se convirti\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente en el l\u00edder del mercado de las soluciones SFA.
