Get a Better ERP
Still don't know what an ERP is? What is it for?
Well, today in my reflections I'll tell you some keys to getting a better ERP.
What is an ERP system?
An ERP is business management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage accounts and integrate a company's financial activities, supply chain, operations, reporting, manufacturing, and human resources.
You're probably at the point of making the leap to an ERP because your current system is obsolete or you're simply using basic tools, the business is growing, more employees, etc., processes are becoming more complex, or you're simply opening new lines of business. Well, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the comprehensive management system will allow you to grow with your business and be flexible.
Your current system probably has shortcomings when it comes to getting real-time information, or it doesn't even allow you to integrate information with other systems or data sources. With an ERP like Business Central, you'll be able to analyze data and business information to increase productivity, grow, and be more competitive. https://www.abd.es/soluciones/negocio/
The next natural step when you're in the ERP selection process is where to implement it. On-premises? In the cloud? A hybrid system? Well, Business Central offers each of those possibilities, so you can choose your hosting.
I could talk about the benefits of implementing an ERP system, its advantages, cost savings, data reliability, integration, collaboration, connecting from any device and location, etc., but allow me to focus on the previous step, which is undoubtedly one of the most important: the "Action Plan".
The action plan, from my point of view, would be::
– Study the current situation of our old system
– List the functions of the current system or what we already use
– Create a list of the features we need or would like to have
– Lists with special functionality or possible integrations with other systems
We already have the essence of what I need technically; now comes the economic part. Do I have a budget line to undertake the project? Have I checked if there are any grants or subsidies? This is just like when I'm going to buy a car and I know exactly how far I can go...
Another issue to consider—and not the least important just because it's last—is choosing a travel companion, a technology partner to accompany and help you in the implementation process. Many times we choose a good product but run into problems during implementation because we didn't choose the right Partner, sometimes because of price, empathy, or any other reason. This is where ABD Consulting and IT Solutions plays a relevant role, with more than 25 years backing us, experience in implementations is an unequivocal sign of peace of mind and trust. The involvement of our staff in your project, their technical skills, and knowledge of both the product and your issues are fundamental. We should never forget that the success of an ERP implementation is a perfect communion between Client and Partner.
An ERP like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and a technology Partner like ABD is the perfect combination for your implementation project to be a complete success. https://www.abd.es/
