Change of date in the Dynamics 365 Business Central price update

Microsoft has announced a change in the effective date of the Dynamics 365 Business Central price update. Initially scheduled for October 1, 2025, the increase has been postponed to November 1, 2025. This adjustment gives partners and companies more time to plan their budgets and licensing strategies.

Why has the Business Central price update been delayed?

Microsoft has decided to postpone the price update to give companies more time to plan their transition. This means you now have an additional month to review your current licenses, assess whether it’s the right moment to renew before November, and calculate the real impact on your IT budget.

Instead of being forced to make rushed decisions, you can now take the time to evaluate whether it’s better to keep your current pricing, migrate from NAV to Business Central, or adjust your licensing strategy to reduce medium‑term costs.

Opportunity to subscribe before November 1

Companies that renew or purchase subscriptions before that date will temporarily keep the current pricing.

More time to plan your budgets

The additional month gives CEOs and CFOs more time to adjust cost forecasts and define the most suitable licensing plan.

Migration strategy from NAV on‑premises

If you are still using on‑premises Dynamics NAV, this extra time is key to evaluating a migration to Business Central in the cloud, allowing you to anticipate the pricing changes.

Tips to make the most of the date change

  • Review your current licenses and calculate the savings of renewing before November.
  • Consult your Microsoft partner to define the best strategy.
  • Evaluate the impact of Essentials vs. Premium based on your company’s needs.
  • Plan your migration from legacy systems by taking advantage of this additional time.
